An old friend knocked on my door
Barged inside and sat on the floor
That familiar chokehold-
The grating lump in my throat
Ah! I must not be right in the head anymore!

It's been a while
I thought I let you go
"I love you too much to leave you alone"

Oh how sweet!
You waited for me?
"I'm always here, tugging at the seams"

I made you tea, how has it been
"Oh so you were expecting me?"
I felt the otherside calling me
"Ah yes, that was indeed me"

Do you have something fun in mind?
"You can hurt all the people you like"
I was thinking blades and lighters
"Even better, let's get started!"

I think you know that I know 
You're not friend you're foe
"But you opened the door"
I don't want to play with you anymore

"I'm the oldest friend you know
I make you feel like yourself the most,"
Please leave, this isn't who I am anymore
"Keep telling yourself that-
and wait for me to be back once more"
Just go
"Okay I won't force-
but you know you'd rather have me
than be alone with your thoughts"

Made of night but born of meadows
She treads the thin line between us and shadows
Wisdom of ancestors deep in her bones 
Courage of maiden, mother and crone

Light as a feather but a spirit of steel
Her eyes won't smile but her heart does feel
She runs with the rivers and the streams to the seas 
She's the wind that sways to the rhythm of the trees

She spreads no sorrow nor promise of hope 
Passing in mystery in her elusive lope
If you catch her glimpse in the night's song
Ask her no mercy if you did no wrong

Oh maid of the night, will you bring me light 
I watched in awe as she took her flight 
She has no fear only thirst for the right 
No love spared for the hearts of the slight

They’re rolling off my tongue and my finger tips

They’re pulsing through my veins

I’m bleeding out, I won’t run dry again

I’m a fountain, I’m a waterfall, I’m a river crashing into the sea again

It’s heavy, I’m tired but I don’t want to rest again

I can feel it in my toes again

I can’t breathe but I’m not suffocating

I don’t want order I don’t want chaos I just want to be in this flow again

I can feel my heart as it bursts into a million different words again and again and again

Thawed, dams broken I don’t ever want to be contained, again
